Two Days in Kuala Lumpur + AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search 2017

I think this year is looking bright for the nomadic me. Well, I'm claiming it! =D After Bohol, I was invited again by AirAsia to cover one of their events--- this time in Malaysia! This time I, together with a few media friends and my loves Kelly, were asked to cover the launch of AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search 2017. What is this all about? More details below as well as random stories and photos!

Always connected with SKYROAM!

AirAsia in Malaysia

Waiting for our luggage

I wasn't able to withdraw money in Manila so I called up BPI before boarding the plane and had my card activated for international withdrawals. Worked like magic in Malaysia! Yey!

Woots! My money for 3 days! Kashang kasha!

Kelly having some bills exchanged

Their airport is HUGE. Hello, Huawei!

AirAsia's RedQ office is located beside KLIA2 so we checked in sa nearest hotel which is Tune Hotel. It's just across KLIA2 exit and bus stops. So convenient! If you need someplace to crash before a connecting flight, then book a room here.

You would immediately see the hotel upon KLIA2 exit

Lakas maka Boracay hehe

Here's my room!

Toilet was clean

I was supposed to share this room with a blogger from Brunei but she didn't show up. All to myself! Hehe.

The event was scheduled the next day, so we had the rest of the afternoon and night all to ourselves. It was Kelly's first time in Malaysia so we both decided to go to the city even for a few hours. We just wanted to take a photo of and with the Petronas and also try some local cuisine.

Our uber ride to the city!

Instead of taking the train or riding a cab, we opted for Grab and Uber! It's much cheaper by 30rm! We only paid 77rm from our hotel to the Petronas Tower. Same rate going back. That includes the toll na.

Finally here!!!

It was my first time to see the Petronas up close at night, all lit up!

Ako din dapat haha

Kelly and his Gucci obsession. Haha

In fairness, malakas ang self control! Nilet go nia! Haha

Missed this!

After going around the mall, we decided to go to Petaling Night Market for dinner. Bought tickets going to Pasar Seni

We got to the city at around 6pm. We took mandatory tourist shots in front of the Petronas, strolled inside the mall and then took a train going to Pasar Seni, the nearest train station to Petaling Night Market. There was some kind of religious Hindu event going on when we got there so the area was so lively and crowded. After eating, we headed back to the hotel.

We followed the signs and the people until we reached our destination

Made it!!!

Favorite!

Favorite dinner place!

Kelly and I finished everything. So good!

The event was not until 2:30pm the next day, so we all agreed to check out Mitsui Outlet Mall muna, do a little shopping and eat lunch there. I skipped breakfast because I opted to sleep more, so I just followed the group to Mitsui. Even if I was alone, it was really easy going there. The shuttle bus terminal was just across Tune Hotels in front of KLIA2 exit. :)

Commercial muna! Here are a few products I really swear by (I buy them talaga): The Body Shop Drops of Light, Biore UV Perfect Brightening Milk, Beachborn Healing Toner, Maybelline Hyperink Liner!

Free shuttle to Mitsui mall from the airport. Look for this bay! B09 okay?

There's a bus every 5-10 minutes

They are just parked outside Mitsui's main entrance

It was like Paseo in Nuvali! 2 floors of different outlet stores. I saw Mango, Cotton On, Typo, Sasa, Bratpack, Samsonite, Nike, Adidas, Versace, DVF, and many more! I was THIS close to buying a luggage set for P7000. Good thing I still had self control haha. I, however, bought lots of face masks from SASA for just P300 and loafers from Mango for P800. So many good deals.

That one! Bought it! So comfy.

I wanted to buy lamps and lights but they were heavy huhu

Masks galore in SASA! They even have tax refund and extra discount waaaah

Lunch time at ME TIME Restaurant!

In fairness, meals are reasonably priced!

I shared with Kelly again, we ordered ribeye steak, pasta, cheese baked rice with chicken. SOOO GOOD!!! Naubos na naman namin! I love sharing with Kelly. Hihi.

After our sumptuous lunch at Me Time, we headed back to the hotel to freshen up and dress up for the event. I was so excited to see AirAsia's headquarters in Malaysia. It's literally just a few blocks away from the airport and Tune Hotels.

OMG, the AirAsia RedQ office is HUGE. It's what office dreams are made of. Anyway, we were warmly welcomed by the Malaysia team who were all so nice. The event did not immediately start so Kelly and I went around to take photos. :) Yen (who is AirAsia Manila's current PR superstar) said they even have a gym and footsal room on the 2nd floor! They also discourage smoking because they want to promote health and wellness to their employees. Well, that also explains the huge salad bar in the middle of the floor. Can I live here? Haha.

Philippines reprezent!
